Project Description

CHALLENGE

The annual conference Army Summit was hosted by The Norwegian Army and Fieldwork 17th of September. Theme for 2019: Land power in NATO – past, present and future. With a lot of key speakers and a lot of people attending, our challenge was to make it seamless and professional without any unexpected surprises – and of course to make it look good at the same time.

CREATE

We created a set up for the stage, reflecting this year’s theme and a set list reflecting the army: professional and proper. The scenography used on stage was made of recyclable materials. We challenged them in creative solutions for presenting and debating: instead of doing a panel like they always have done it (standing up straight on stage with microphones), we challenged them to make it more of a highlight of the day, a panel debate in a sitting group (like Skavlan) with questions from the public through an app called Slido. This app made it possible to receive questions consecutively throughout the panel debate with an opportunity to vote for the best questions. The key speakers were offered guidance and training and we arranged for interaction and engagement from the audience throughout the day.

CONNECT

The summit was a seamless event with new, creative solutions. The panel debate was a huge success – and next year The Norwegian Army will focus more on this particular segment of the day. The response and engagement from the audience went up a huge deal from last year’s summit and Slido made it easy to participate and join in on the debate.
